Desperate Housewives: Teri Hatcher Does NOT Have Swine Flu!

Bad rumor! Bad rumor!

There are enough bad rumors floating around about celebrities and their illnesses that they can live without.

Desperate to set the record straight, actress Teri Hatcher has announced that she does NOT have the H1N1 Swine Flu virus.

Rumors began claiming that the “Desperate Housewives” star was the latest celebrity victim of the H1N1 virus.

Although she may not have swine flu, Hollywood insiders know they are not immune to such illnesses and many in the entertainment industry are afraid of catching the virus. Doing so could mean being passed over for career making acting roles and other jobs until they are given a clean bill of health.

Teri Hatcher is ill, but not with H1N1. “She is sick and has laryngitis.”, explains her PR representative, Mr. Brad Cafarelli.

Not even laryngitis will keep Ms. Hatcher down. She is still hard at work and keeping up with her shooting schedule for the popular ABC show, now in its sixth season.

Celebrities that have had actual confirmed cases of the H1N1, swine flu virus include: Marilyn Manson, CNN Chief Medical Correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta and Rupert Grint from the “Harry Potter” films.

Desperate Housewives Spoilers: Gaby's gardener Jesse Metcalfe returns to the cougar den

Tonight marks the return of Jesse Metcalfe to Desperate Housewives' Wisteria Lane in the role that garnered him the title of cougar prey. Before his return, let's take a look back at his storyline thus far. Back in 2004, Jesse Metcalfe gained acclaim for his portrayal of John Rowland, the sexy but not too bright teenage gardener/lover of Eva Longoria's Gaby Solis on Desperate Housewives. While his character featured prominently during season one, Metcalfe's role was relegated to a few guest appearances in season two, and single appearances in seasons three and four. During season one, John's storyline moved him from teenage plaything for Gaby to guilt-ridden, but unintentional accomplice to murder--it was John who was chasing Gaby's mother-in-law to retrieve a camera that contained proof of their affair when she ran into the street and was struck by drunk driver Andrew Van de Kamp--to Gaby's potential baby-daddy. He confessed his affair with Gaby just as Carlos is on trial and serves time for a hate crime.
As season two began, Gaby apologizes to Carlos for the affair with John. As it turns out, John was not the father of the baby--which Gaby looses after falling down the stairs while being chased by crazy neighbor Caleb Applewhite. When Gaby and Carlos try to adopt, they learn that John's mother, Helen Rowland works for the adoption agency and nips a legal adoption in the bud. John meanwhile begins taking care of a new cougar's gardening needs.
Single appearances during seasons three and four reveal John is married, but not happily, and furthermore, he is still in love with Gaby. They eventually meet at a hotel owned by his father-in-law where Gaby reveals that she is pregnant by Carlos and refuses John's advances.
The circumstances of tonight's return of John Rowland center around yet another chance meeting, this time while Gaby is at dinner. We learn that John and his disenchanted young wife are splitsville. You might think that would open the storyline for a return to the affair with Gaby, but look for a typical Desperate twist. It's not Gaby who goes after John, but her nothing but trouble niece, Ana. Think of it as Desperate's tribute to fellow Disney franchise, The Lion King...it's a whole new take on the Circle of Life, either that or Ana is just hell-bent on getting back at Aunt Gaby.
Also tonight, Karl has a date with someone other than Bree. Bree is upset, but can't say much, as she is trying to honor the friend code with Susan by not pursuing Karl and reluctantly, albeit temporarily with Orson. Even so, seeing that Karl isn't one to wait, she considers a weekend away.
On the Lynette and Tom Eight is Enough front, the Scavo's have a family pow-wow to discuss the additions to the family. With one of the elder twin boys away, at least they have a room available for the new twin babies.
When Julie's suspected attacker, Danny is released from police custody because of lack of evidence, Susan is not happy. This leads to a confrontation with a bat-wielding Angie, played by season six addition, Drea de Matteo. Guess all those years on The Sopranos taught her a thing or two about multiple uses for baseball equipment. Upon Danny's release, we are also introduced to yet another new teenage character as his friend Eddie, played by former KyleXY cast mate, Josh Zuckerman, makes an appearance.
Given the latest developments and additions to the cast, the suspect list for Julie's attacker keeps growing. Even though he is released for lack of evidence, could Danny really be Julie's attacker? With Katherine showing obvious signs of cracking, maybe she did it, either as revenge for Susan's nuptials or thinking it was Susan she was attacking. Maybe it was John's ex-wife in a jealous rage and a case of mistaken addresses. Perhaps it's Eddie because of a yet-to-be revealed connection to Julie or Danny. Rumor has it he relates a story to one of the housewives about meeting a girl while in Paris with his father. Hmmm let's see, Julie's been away for a year, comes back and talks to Lynette about being pregnant, then mysteriously isn't and gets attacked. Maybe Eddie wonders what happened to his baby. With Desperate Housewives, anything's possible.
Only one way to find out for sure, keep watching. Well, OK, two ways, because you know if I find out first, I'll be sure and spill it here.

Desperate Housewives Susan goes to jail

I just saw the premiere of Desperate Housewives Season 6 episode 5. There's someone outside Susan's window, and

Susan got scared , she shout in the darkness:"I have a gun!" Then shoot!
And the Voice-Over says--and now one housewife is gonna pay the price! I guess everyone should remenber Kath

usually walk around outside Susan's window and observe sth, so there's a huge possibility that susan will kill

How is this season so low-rated?

I'm having a difficult time understanding why this season is rated so much lower than all the rest. First of all, Desperate Housewives is one of the most consistently good shows on TV and every season is solid. However, season five is special in that it revamped and refreshed the series by beginning five years ahead of where season four left off. This technique provides the viewer with a slew of new storylines:

Susan: In season five, we find Susan and Mike divorced after a terrible incident tears them apart. Connected through their five year old son, Susan and Mike struggle with old feelings while beginning new relationships, Susan with her much younger house painter and Mike with Katherine Mayfair.

Lynette: Tom and Lynette continue to struggle raising their four children, specifically their teenaged twins Porter and Preston. On top of that, Tom finds himself in a midlife crisis and Lynette discovers the woes of returning to the world of advertising at age 50.
Bree: No longer a mere housewife, Bree is now an established cookbook author and businesswoman, owning her own catering company with Andrew and Katherine by her side. However, success comes with a price as she struggles to maintain her marriage to Orson, now a former convict.

Gabby: The beginning of season five finds Gabby as a harried mother of two young girls; now a house frow, she is far from the glamorous fashion model she once was. When Carlos regains his sight, Gabby and Carlos find themselves at a crossroads as they begin to simultaneously adopt and question their former lifestyle.

Edie: After being banished from Wisteria Lane five years prior, Edie returns with a new husband in tow. This husband is at the center of season five's mystery, as he has manipulated Edie into moving back to the lane so he can exact revenge on several main characters.
In all honesty, the only critique I have of this season is the mystery. In fact, I didn't find it to be all that mysterious, as I figured pretty much the entire thing out the night the premiere aired. It still remains, however, an interesting storyline to watch unfold.

There you have it. If you enjoyed seasons 1-4 of Housewives, you should definitely enjoy this. It's my second favorite season after season two, which interestingly enough was also unpopular among many fans. Negative reviews aside, this is an extremely solid season with captivating storylines and the same mix of comedy and drama we have come to expect from the show. To avoid spoilers for those of you who haven't seen the season yet, I'll just say that the finale gives us many things to look forward to in the fall, as each housewife's life takes an interesting turn.

Winners and losers from ‘Desperate Housewives,’ Season 6, episode 3: ‘Never Judge a Lady by Her Lover’

Can we pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaase talk about how great this season is?? I won’t lie, this girl was a little skeptical — and I think for good reason. Number one, the fast-forward-five-years thing worked last season of Desperate Housewives, but how would that fit with this one? If it was just a gimmick, then this season probably wouldn’t come close to the awesomeness of last season. And then the first episode didn’t really meet my high hopes. Yet, here we are. Where is here? We’ve got great affairs. We’ve got mystery. We’ve got daughters in comas. We’re back to the story lines that originally made DH as great as it was in its early years: straight soap opera drama.

So you know how it goes. We watch the show, then we pick the winners and losers of the episode. Thanks for all your responses!

WINNERS

Angie: Sure, the Bolens could’ve viciously mass murdered 30 newborns in the middle of the night before they changed their name and moved to Wisteria Lane, but at this point, I’m cool just being in the dark about that. Angie’s a good mother. She’s supporting her son though pretty much anything, as RenatoB says: “That woman will do anything to keep her son from being harmed, including threatening a scorned neighbor with a bat or telling her kid where the loaded Smith ‘n’ Wesson rests.”

The Scavos, sans Lynette: Let’s be real on this one, Tom, Baby Matt Damon, Parker and Penny Scavo get the win because of the writers. Between Baby Matt Damon (1 or 2?) schooling his parents about birth control and making smart decisions, Penny’s great one-liner about not wanting any more brothers and Tom drinking — a lot — to support his wife (finally) and keep her pregnancy secret, these guys won. Big time. @RenatoB picked them, too!!

John: The teenage gardener shtupping the hot, wealthy woman who employs him now has the upper hand. His own restaurant, manipulating Gaby through Carlos, and through it all….Gaby’s still thinking about it. Plus, I know I’ve been keeping this a deep, dark secret, but I lovelovelovelove this story line. Love love love.

LOSERS

Susan: This is her first, but of course not last, appearance as a loser. Susan, we get that you’re upset that Julie’s in a coma. So upset that you decided to attempt to kill someone else’s child, ie, Cheap Knockoff Robert Pattinson. She’s done a lot of stupid things, but never maliciously violent like that. (Not)Neighbor Peggy and I both agreed this was a major out-of-character move for her.

Orson: You guys all picked this one. @LMITCHELL: “Poor, stupid, hateable Orson. He honestly thinks Bree could still love him? Ha.” @RenatoB: “He’s gotta be the dumbest man alive, he needs to get over himself, when is he gonna figure things out?” Couldn’t have said it any better myself, folks. Thanks for the input!!

Carlos: OK. I know a few of you put him on the winner’s list, but here’s why all of the points he gained for putting John into his place were lost: the workplace discrimination. He’s not only doing it, he’s doing it to his friend. Even if she weren’t pregnant, he’s putting her in an awkward position. That said, isn’t this more like the old Carlos…….?
